We have lived here for 2 years now and love it for the most part (aside from the yearly rent increases that will eventually force us to find a new place to live) but we go for walks and you can’t go 5 feet without seeing garbage and litter on the ground and the sidewalks. Food waste, wrappers, coffee cups, etc. Since none of the adults want to pick up after themselves or their kids I hope management could have someone periodically collect the litter. Our dog has gotten into some of the garbage in the past and it resulted in an expensive vet visit.

Management and maintenance are kind, responsive, reasonable and is the biggest reason we have stayed as long as we have. The location of the complex is also tucked away between three towns equal in distance each way.

The buildings need some serious work, water drainage throughout the property is a problem. Many places are filled with standing water due to water routing. This is also seen in the spring once the snow starts melting, major pot holes form and the solution to this is putting cones in them. The maintenance crew could use some major equipment upgrades for winter in particular. With a property having more than 5,000 people pickup trucks with front plows are not enough. They need a front end loader to remove the snow instead of just pushing the snow into parking spots and common areas they deem as their snow piles.

Interior wise the windows leak and cause ceiling damage into apartments under you. The heating in our apartment doesn't work, it will be 55 degrees in the early morning and 95 degrees after 5pm. Each year expect at least a $150 dollar rent increase, due to inflation and meeting the market.

The laundry company they use CSC is absurdly useless. Their machines are broken over half the time and the property owners don't service them. Its a 3ed party company and need to consult with them to get them fixed. The prices of laundry loads have increased by 40% over the last few years. The number of machines are also not enough for the amount of apartments that require the use of them.

Its not a bad place to reside for a few years in a transition period of life, but long term would not be suggested.

The grounds and apartments are lovely. Just be advised that at lease renewal Dawn homes increases the rent by at least $200 every year. Moved in at $1,190, following year went to $1,240, third year $1,440, and if I stayed would have went to $1,650. I moved because I changed jobs. This is for all of the complexes, as they have some in Albany as well. If you are prepared to pay tge increases then it is a great place to live.

Dog friendly, Quiet, clean and the management office and maintenance always handle issues immediately. Seriously maintenance crew is the best. They always go above and beyond to fix things. Rent price you get what you pay for. Also the laundry machines have an app you can use instead of quarters, very convenient. Neighbors keep to themselves, no issues. I would live here forever if it wasn't that the commute to my job is far.

I enjoyed my time here. Finding a unit was a bit aggravating at first because they have to many people in the leasing office and you’re always getting a different person. They are kind and helpful but I felt like I needed to repeat myself all the time. Their maintenance staff is ON TOP of their stuff. Receptionist at the maintenance office is kind and the staff are great. I love that they accept pets here and offer many “poop stops” with trash and bags offered, it’s the terrible tenants that don’t pick up after their pets that ruin it for everyone else. I do recommend this place.

We lived at Chelsea Ridge for almost 7 years and brought both of our babies to our two bedroom apartment. From the leasing office staff, to the maintenance team, to the vendors in the complex, we had amazing interactions and were treated with respect, dignity and all our issues were addressed in a timely fashion. My favorite story to tell is a time when I had my first child, my husband was away on Military training and one of the maintenance staff kindly came and brought a bulb to change out the refrigerator light that had burnt out. Super shoutout to Veronica and John at maintenance. The grounds are beautifully maintained with the seasons changes. The pool is awesome, even during Covid. The only thing I wish would change is that they would upgrade appliances and other amenities as rent prices increase (that’s a separate issue 😅). We had a great experience at Chelsea Ridge and only left because we were ready to purchase, otherwise we would have stayed longer!

Thank you, Chelsea Ridge, for seeing our family through its humble beginnings.
